Belarusian wrestlers won three medals at World Women's Wrestling Championship
World Women's Wrestling Championship took place in Strathcona, Canada. Belarus, with three medals (1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze), shared the 3rd-5th places with Canada (1, 1, 1) and Japan (1, 1, 1). The U.S. (2, 1, 1) and China (1, 1, 4) topped the final medal table. Partaking in the competitions were 28 countries.
Vanessa Kolodinskaya (weight category up to 48 kg) became world champion!
On the way to victory Vanessa Kolodinskaya defeated sportswomen from the USA (Clarissa Chun), Kazakhstan (Tatyana Amanzhol-Bakatyuk), China (Xiaomei Li), and in the final Eri Tosaka from Japan (0:2, 1:0, 3:2).
Zalina Sidakova (weight category up to 59 kg) won a silver medal.
In the final battle she lost to Zhang Lan - the representative of China (1:0, 1:1, 0:1). On the way to the final Belarusian wrestler overplayed Sheoran Shilpi from India (0:1, 7:0) and M. Tungalag from Mongolia (2:0, 1:0).
Vasilisa Marzalyuk (weight category up to 72kg category) took bronze.
On the way to the victory Vasilisa defeated representative of India- Gursharan Preet Kaur and Maria Selmaier from Germany, but lost in the semifinals to Guzel Manyurova from Kazakhstan. In the battle for the bronze medal Vasilisa Marzaliuk overplayed Natalya Palamarchuk from Azerbaijan. Anna Fransson from Sweden became world champion.
